So, these are my Black&White experiments.
This Stadium, I thought, presented me with the opportunity to shoot all these lines, patterns, textures and odd shapes.
They all looked very precise and geometrical.
And then I loved shooting the more morose side of the Stadium.
The big gates, barbed wire, old megaphones and strangely pointed fences, reminded me of the sinister parades the Nazis and Fascists used to set up in the streets and in stadiums like this one.
Being quite morose and thinking of the interesting Black&White effects I could have created later, I went for it.
I still don't know how to create a good shade of B&W, or at least "my" shade of B&W. I have seen such beautifully inspiring examples of wonderful B&W creations on the Internet made by some truly talented photographers out there, that I felt completely, either dwarfed or inspired by them.
It depended on my level of concentration and self esteem!
Anyway, here's my experiments.
oh my god! so finally you have realized and these Refreshingly unique and totally inspired photos are testament to your true and attractively humble and yet purely talented slant on nature and realism.
ReplyDeleteI only wish that other "glory seeking" unfortunately untalented "photographers" could see what you see, portray what you
"hold up to nature".
Your honest humble reflections are living proof that we are not all money grabbing, glory seeking, hackneyed pretenders. Yes i am your husband but it is an honest reaction in response to pure Art that motivates my respect and alliance to you, not husbandry.
Also I LOVE YOU.
galvanized gate is my current fave!

ReplyDeleteErm... Thanks! Maybe we should have had a private conversation about this... :S
ReplyDeleteThank you for your warm compliments but I must admit I feel I don't deserve them all. Maybe I'm wrong but I'd rather be complimented on my own right, rather than by comparison. Meaning that because some are "so and so", I am better because I am not. I'd rather be liked because of who I am alone. Does it make sense? I don't mean to be rude at all. I appreciate your comments and they make me truly happy, they mean a lot coming from you, especially as you have such a finely attuned eye. I hope I don't sound ungrateful or rude: I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I just don't like comparisons. That's just me. Especially when it comes to expressing ourselves: we all have different ways to do it and different ways to achieve it. Nobody is better than anybody else just different. And there is room for everyone. :)
